London, Kentucky one step closer to selling packaged alcohol.
Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 8:04AM London, Kentucky will now join the ranks of other eastern Kentucky cities that are one step closer to selling packaged alcohol.
While there is still some time before the city could see a special election, it’s already causing controversy.
The three London businessmen who wanted to see package alcohol sales are a little bit closer to achieving their goal. They turned in 250 more signed petitions than needed to have a special election in the city.
The men and their families named the campaign “Yes for Economic Success 2012” and while they haven't seen much opposition yet ... It's starting to create controversy.
But Y.E.S. Suggests that the sale of alcohol would only cut-down on the already illegal sale of drugs and alcohol. The cities of Corbin and Barbourville are expected to vote on the sale of packaged alcohol in mid-February. Continue Article>>>
